Choosing the Right Sensor
The correct sensor depends on what you are measuring, the pressure or temperature range, the thread type, connector style, wiring requirements, ECU input type and calibration data.
For pressure sensors, choose a range that suits the job. For example, oil pressure, fuel pressure, brake pressure and boost pressure may all require different sensor ranges. Choosing a sensor with the wrong range can reduce accuracy or make the ECU data less useful.

Sensor Wiring for Aftermarket ECUs
Sensor wiring should be planned properly. Many sensors require a 5V reference, sensor ground and signal wire. Some sensors require pull-ups, shielded cable, twisted pair wiring or specific ECU input configuration.
Noise-sensitive signals such as crank, cam, knock, wheel speed and some digital sensors may need shielded cable or specific routing away from ignition, alternator and high-current wiring. Always follow the ECU manufacturer’s wiring and setup requirements.
