Open Barrel Wire Splice - Medium

Genuine TE Connectivity (AMP) AMPLIVAR open barrel splice, Medium size, part number 62306-2. The multi-wire workhorse: injector power splits, coil grounds and mid gauge harness joins, crimped concentric twist style. The open barrel crimps around the stripped conductors the same way a connector terminal does, giving a compact, inspectable, vibration proof join.

Sizing by CMA: add up the circular mil area of every wire entering the splice and pick the splice whose CMA range covers the total. This Medium covers 1,500 to 5,000 CMA, from a pair of 22 AWG wires up to a 16 AWG feed splitting into two 18 AWG branches.

Common Tefzel wire CMA values: 22 AWG = 754, 20 AWG = 1,216, 18 AWG = 1,900, 16 AWG = 2,426, 14 AWG = 3,830, 12 AWG = 5,900.
